🎧 RBT-GB-101: Boundaries, Burnout, and Balance

About

Burnout in the ABA field is common but preventable with the right tools and mindset. In this course, RBTs will learn how to recognize the early warning signs of burnout, set effective professional and personal boundaries, and restore balance through self-management and reinforcement-based strategies. Through reflection, guided examples, and practical tools, participants will gain the confidence to communicate limits, manage emotional demands, and sustain long-term effectiveness. This training emphasizes the science of behavior as applied to self-care — helping RBTs show up grounded, balanced, and ready to make an impact. Learning Objectives 1. Identify common signs and stages of burnout in the RBT role and explain how environmental variables contribute to its development. 2. Describe the five primary types of professional boundaries (role, time, emotional, communication, and internal) and demonstrate ways to maintain them in practice. 3. Apply at least three evidence-based strategies to enhance resilience, promote work–life balance, and reduce stress through self-management and reinforcement principles.
