About
Reinforcement is at the core of behavior changeâbut overuse, poor delivery, or mismanagement can reduce its power. This course revisits the science of reinforcement with a fresh, research-based perspective. Participants will explore how motivation, novelty, and timing influence reinforcement effectiveness, and how to maintain ethical, sustainable reinforcement systems across environments. By learning how to creatively adjust reinforcement strategies, BCBAs can enhance client engagement, prevent satiation, and maintain long-term progress. Learning Objectives 1. Explain how motivation, deprivation, and satiation influence reinforcement effectiveness. 2. Design reinforcement systems that maintain power, variety, and ethical integrity. 3.
