About
The Art of Accurate Data: When to Count, Time, or Track is a practical refresher designed to strengthen RBTsâ confidence and accuracy in data collection. Participants will learn how to choose between continuous and discontinuous measurement procedures, including when to count every instance, time behavior, or track behavior in intervals. Through real-world examples and clear explanations, this course emphasizes how accurate data guide treatment decisions and reflect true client progress. RBTs will walk away with actionable strategies to collect reliable data, avoid common errors, and support their BCBA in making informed, evidence-based decisions. Learning Objectives 1. Differentiate between continuous and discontinuous measurement procedures and describe the types included in each. 2. Identify which measurement system (counting, timing, or interval recording) is most appropriate based on the type, frequency, and duration of the target behavior. 3. Demonstrate accurate and consistent data collection by applying key strategies to reduce common measurement errors and improve reliability across sessions.
